How we change things
Sense's Public Policy team works in a number of ways to help shape and influence the education agenda.

Sometimes we work closely with UK and Welsh Government officials, sometimes Ministers, Members of Parliament, Welsh Assembly Members or the House of Lords, and we work directly on legislation as it moves through Parliament and the welsh Assembly.
In addition to working with civil servants and politicians, we work closely with colleagues from the disability and third sectors:
- In England Sense is a member of the Special Educational Consortium (SEC), comprising more than 30 disability organisations, professional associations and local government. You can find out more information about the SEC on the Council for Disabled Children website.
- In Wales Sense is a member of the Third Sector Additional Needs Alliance (TSANA), which comprises 14 charities and organisations that work with children and young people with Additional Learning Needs.
Sense’s Public Policy team works closely with Children’s Specialist Services to ensure that all of our public policy work is informed by the views of deafblind children and young people, parents and professionals.
This means that our policy reflects the views, needs and aspirations of the people who have experience and understanding of the education system.
