Fly-fishing with Chris Tarrant and Paul Whitehouse

23 September 2011

Celebrities Chris Tarrant and Paul Whitehouse joined the team at our second Fly-fishing event at the Haywards Farm, Theale, Berkshire on Thursday 22 September.

Chris Tarrant was very generous and donated four VIP tickets to watch Who Wants to be a Millionaire being filmed and to join Chris and the crew, whilst Paul Whitehouse donated his own fishing rod and £500 cash! Both also eagerly bid in the auction as well.

The event was hosted by the highly regarded fly-fishing specialists Sportfish. Qualified instructors were on hand to give participants help and advice at the beautifully landscaped lakes at Theale.

Eight teams from a range of our corporate partners participated. Companies taking part included Bupa, Bird & Bird, Slaughter & May, Mills & Reeve, Russell-Cooke, Berwin Leighton & Paisner and Nautical Oils.

There were two awards with BUPA winning the top team. The Top Rod was joint between Neill Stephen (BUPA), Graham Trounce (Slaughter & May LLP) and Simon Shooter (Bird & Bird LLP).

The event raised £15,000 in total with an auction and other activities raising £5,000 on the day.
