Blind Cornwall teenagers make movie magic

10 July 2011

A group of deafblind teenagers took to the red carpet in Redruth, Cornwall on 9 July 2011 for an evening of Hollywood-style glamour to celebrate the making of their self-made film, See It Our Way.

The 20 Cornish teenagers, aged between 11 and 19, are part of the Get Out There (GOT) Group for visually impaired teenagers, which is managed by Sense. They enjoyed a 'listening' screening of their self scripted, acted and produced short.

The film aims to highlight what it’s like to be a teenager growing up with sight loss, focusing on busting myths associated with blindness. The film will be submitted to the Cornwall Film Festival which takes place in November 2011.
