EDF ran a campaign from from 23 January to 3 October 2007 to collect one million signatures to combat discrimination in all aspects of the lives of disabled citizens in Europe. Read more about the campaign success.

As part of our support for the one million signatures campaign Sense organised a seminar jointly with RNIB, Leonard Cheshire and Guide Dogs for the Blind at Porcullis House in Westminster, London. The aim was to encourage discussion on the need for disability legislation in the European Union. Read more about the seminar.

Written Declaration on rights for deafblind people

As part of EDbN, Sense achieved the historic adoption of Written Declaration 1/2004 on the rights of deafblind people. Read the Written Declaration.

Guidance on using the Written Declaration to achieve change has been produced, to provide advice and support to people wanting to use the Declaration in their individual countries. Read more about the guidance.

Deafblind people in the European Union

A questionnaire was sent out to all EDbN members to find out about the varying situation of deafblind people across the European Union. The results have been put together in a report which is available in English (pdf, 300kb) and in French (pdf, 300kb).
