March 2011 marked the ten year anniversary of the issue of Department of Health guidance to all local authorities in England on the services they should be providing to deafblind children and adults.
The introduction and implementation of the guidance has enabled many deafblind people to lead active lives and to participate far more in society than would otherwise have been the case.
