Café 55
Café 55 is a bright and cheerful café that’s open to the general public for three days a week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am until 3pm. It is run by Sense’s deafblind people and volunteers from across the local community.
It offers disabled people the opportunity to gain catering experience and potentially meaningful employment. It has a varied menu of cakes, snacks, sandwiches, soup and refreshments which are very reasonably priced, as well as a takeaway service.
The café area is also available for hire in the evening. Currently youth groups and charities who want a safe and secure environment to meet in come here on a regular basis.
The café is fully wheelchair accessible and has disabled toilets, a children’s area and free wifi.

Activity rooms
At Providence Court all the activity rooms are all fully wheelchair accessible.
The main activity room includes a stage area, a sensory room and a therapy room. There are also fully accessible toilets and a shower.
The main room is suitable for larger gatherings.
The fully equipped sensory room has soft furnishings, sensory items and various lighting options with the use of a mobile sensory trolley which includes a DVD player, projector and laser facilities.
The therapy room has a massage bench, and soft lighting plus a CD player to use.
All these activity rooms are available to hire on an hourly or daily basis.
Training room
The training room is upstairs but is accessible by lift. It can comfortably seat up to 20 delegates from boardroom to theatre style layouts. There are kitchen facilities to make drinks and accessible toilets. Resources such as flipcharts, IT equipment and projectors are provided. Lunches can also be provided on request in advance.
