Creche

The large crèche room is the focal point of the centre and divided into two areas - the soft play and the messy play. We usually start our group sessions sitting around the circle mat for a sing-song. There is a large assortment of toys and equipment in each area including in the soft play area:

Music corner

There is a large white cloud on the wall with a wide variety of musical instruments hanging from it. Some of these instruments are quite fragile and expensive and need to be taken good care of, so please supervise their use at all times. There is also an electric organ.

Book corner

There are lots of story and picture books etc in the bookcase for you to spend a quiet time with your child.

In the messy play side there are lots of "make believe" environments including:

Home corner

A little house with a kitchen theme inside for the children to play in. There is also a working doorbell, which fix some reason fascinates the children!

Shop corner

A little shop with counter, cash register and bell. Shelves filled with all items you would find in a grocers and supermarket trolley and basket.

Doll's house and garage

Laid out on tables, but can easily be moved to the floor.

Sand pit and water tray

For messy play. Also paints, chalks and crayons in the cupboards under the sink, with a roll or paper on the wall.

Dressing-up trolley

Full of clothes and accessories for dressing up.

Most of the items in this area are for the more able children and siblings but why not join in the fun of the "make believe" world and adapt things for your child.

You should find everything in both areas of the crèche tidy and neatly set up and it would be great if you could leave it the same.
