The Anne Wall Centre works with deafblind adults of all ages and people who have sensory impairments with additional learning disabilities and other associated disabilities.

The centre has been in Barnet since 1994 and has excellent links with the local community and the services that provides. We offer specialist facilities for those with dual sensory impairment and profound and multiple needs.

The Centre also supports some individuals in the evenings and at weekends with leisure activities. Families and professionals are welcome to visit informally (by appointment) or phone to book.

The service we provide

Programmes are developed through person-centred planning and recognition of prior learning so that each individual’s learning plan is incorporated into the timetable to reflect people’s needs, preferences, aspirations and current skill level.

Sense recognises the importance of offering each individual the widest possible range of learning experiences.

We offer a functional approach to communication, training staff in a variety of different communication methods including; speech, objects of reference, British Sign Language, gesture, facial expression and body language, tactile cues and symbols, Widgit symbols and photographs, in order to offer a total communication approach within the centre.

We also encourage individuals to develop skills in relation to orientation and mobility, daily living skills and recreational experiences.

The Anne Wall Centre is one of a range of services offered by Sense South East region.
