Oliver Walder, Sense Trustee
Many people may not be aware that in the middle of 1990s Jessica was a governor at the Royal School for Deaf Children, Margate. At the time I was parent governor and I reflected on the fact that Jessica, a lady with a busy timetable, had travelled a long distance to bring her knowledge and skills to the benefit of the school and its pupils. The governors had oversight of specific parts of the school and Jessica spent time with Pursglove Junior Department which was the provision for pupils with severe additional disabilities.
